Filigree is the art of twisting pliable threads of silver or metal then joining them together with silver solder. The result looks like intricate lace work as can be seen on some of our jewellery.

Glass canes are produced in multicoloured patterns and while still hot these are sliced and then used in jewellery to produce colourful individual items. As each piece is hand made no two items are identical.
Murano is small island near Venice in Italy and is famous for its glass making. At one time it was the leading producer of glass in Europe and glassmaking is still the islands chief industry.
