A tiara is a form of crown or coronet worn by ladies for special occasions, such as on their wedding day, when being crowned Beauty Queen, or for proms and are a band, usually of metal, with a variety of decorations on. They range from the very simple to highly elaborate, from low-line to very tall.
Diamante These are stones, often clear, which are used in jewellery as a substitute for diamonds to give the same shimmering effect.
Facet: a flat polished surface on a crystal or gemstone.
Freshwater Pearls These are mainly ivory coloured pearls which come from freshwater mussels in the Far East. Often they are not perfectly formed but give a romantic feel to a tiara.
Swarovski is a company which supplies good quality crystals in various shapes. Their crystal elements are used in some of our tiaras.
Veil Hooks These are small loops at either end of some tiaras which can be used for attaching a veil.
Vintage: Our vintage tiaras are modern tiaras designed to resemble tiaras from an earlier era, giving them a wonderful touch of glamour and sophistication. Materials used are either pewter or brass which is then plated. Some are plated to a burnished silver colour and others to a bronze colour.
