Bracelets have been worn as a decoration around the wrist for centuries, as far back as the ancient Egyptians.
Bracelets have been made out of many different materials over the centuries, but today many are made of silver, gold or other metals which have been plated. Some are plain, others have jewelled decorations, either gemstones or imitation stones. Many contain clear crystals or pearls.
Bracelets can be a series of links made up of, for example metal butterflies or crystal flowers. Some bracelets are completely made of pearls apart from the fastening. They can be twisted, single strand, double strand or triple strand and fastened with a magnetic clasp, a toggle clasp, screw clasp or a more traditional lobster clasp.
HGE stands for heavy gold electroplate. Some bracelets which have a gold colour are not solid gold, but have a layer of gold plated on to another metal for a similar look, although sometimes it can appear lighter than solid gold.
Cultura Pearls are glass pearls which are not genuine pearls, but faux pearls and can be made in a variety of shapes. They can look and feel like real pearls.
Toggle This is a clasp where a strip of metal at the end of one end of a bracelet fits through a metal loop on the other end to fasten it on the wrist.
