Fascinators

What is a Hair Fascinator? - A Fascinator is a hair decoration or fashion accessory  worn by women as an alternative to a hat.  It is slightly less formal and tends not to hide the face as some hats come.  They range from the very simple to the highly elaborate and can be fixed to either a clip, a comb or a hairband. Many are decorated with feathers and can also be finished off with netting.  They come in an abundance of colours and they are often floral in inspiration and can be worn for weddings, at garden parties and going to the races.  Certain styles and colours are ideal for brides who do not wish to wear tiaras in their hair.  Some are also suitable for bridesmaids.  The main materials used for fascinators are sinamay and organza.

Cerise
is a medium to dark red colour with a vivid shade to it.

Corsage
is usually a bunch of flowers worn on the bodice of a dress or the lapel of a  jacket.

Organza
is a very fine almost see-through material which when used for fascinators gives a soft very feminine appearance.

Ruched
means that the material has been gathered in to pleats which gives a soft feminine look.

Sinamay
is a woven mesh material which is used in the millinery trade and is quite stiff, perfect for fascinators.

Top Hat
A top hat is a tall hat with a flat crown  and small brim with an upward curl.  While usually worn by men on formal occasions, decorated top hats have become increasingly popular for ladies to wear at parties, at the races and also for hen nights.
